what’s the backstory?

isikuti was founded by Sitawa Wafula, best known for launching Kenya’s first mental health support line, which served over 10,000 people in its first year. Her work has been recognized by Google, BET, TED, The Moth, and the UN General Assembly.

after years of building systems, producing micro-events, and leading communications for mental health campaigns, often in communities where stigma ran deep, Sitawa took a sabbatical and moved to the U.S.

there, she found herself supporting lean teams across wellness, faith-based, and academic spaces in Lancaster, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia, quietly becoming the force behind the scenes helping big missions move with more ease.

isikuti is inspired by the rhythm and energy of the traditional isikuti drum and dance from the Luhya community in Kenya.

some say the name isikuti came from foreigners watching the Luhya people drum and dance, remarking, “It is good!”, a phrase locals echoed as “i-si-kut.”

whether myth or memory, that energy is what we aim to bring to every collaboration.

we bring that same coordination, flow, and pulse to your backend operations, so your frontline work feels good, looks good, and lands well with those you serve.

why the name “isikuti”?
